Customer-Salesforce Account Relationship

For organizations using Nue with Salesforce integration, it's important to understand how Customers in Nue relate to Accounts in Salesforce:

Data Source: When your Nue instance is connected to Salesforce, Customer records have Salesforce as their data source, meaning the authoritative data resides in Salesforce.

Selective Synchronization: Customer records created through the Self-Service API don't immediately sync to Salesforce. Instead, synchronization only occurs when the first order is activated for that customer. This approach:

  • Prevents your Salesforce org from being flooded with potential customers who haven't yet committed to a purchase

  • Creates a clear boundary between prospects and actual customers

  • Optimizes your Salesforce data for meaningful sales operations

Continuous Bidirectional Sync: Alternatively, organizations can enable a specialized configuration setting that allows for immediate bidirectional synchronization of customer records. When this setting is activated, any customer created through the Self-Service API will instantly synchronize with Salesforce, creating a corresponding Account record. Similarly, any Account changes in Salesforce will synchronize back to the Nue customer record.
